Foreign students hoping to attend TJKC as degree-seeking students should refer to the Japanese Homepage for details regarding available Scholarships and Tuition Waivers.

For one-year exchange program students, the Japanese government has awarded TJKC one Japan Student Services Organization (JASSO) scholarship per year for an exchange student from an overseas partner college to study at TJKC. The awardee will receive ¥80,000 (about $750 at current exchange rates) per month for up to one year. This is approximately 80% of the costs of living near our campus. In addition, the award includes a lump sum of ¥150,000 for roundtrip airfare and a travel allowance. The student must begin study at TJKC at the start of our fall semester in October. JASSO stipulates that a fellowship grantee meet the following criteria:

1. To be enrolled in a partner college overseas
2. To have a strong academic record
3. To have a clear purpose for study in Japan
4. To have a financial need
5. To commit to return to her home institution after study in Japan
6. To be qualified for a Japanese visa
7. To have not studied in Japan previously under this program
